Who it is for
Hosts and small operators who set their own nightly rates on Airbnb, Booking.com, LekkeSlaap or a direct website: a single flat in Sea Point, a guest house in Stellenbosch, a family home let in December, or a management company running up to 75 units. If you have ever asked "what should I charge tonight?" and answered with a guess, RateVeld answers with a rate and the reasoning behind it.
What it does
For every night about six months ahead, RateVeld reads live market data for your suburb, prices in South African school holidays, public holidays, events and weekends, keeps the rate between the floor and ceiling you set, and shows the reasoning line by line: comparable listings, nearby hotels, seasonality, event uplift, weekend shape, your floor. You read it, then decide. RateVeld recommends and you apply: it never changes a price on any channel.
Where it works
Pricing data today covers Cape Town, the Atlantic Seaboard, the City Bowl, the Southern Suburbs, the West Coast, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Hermanus and Langebaan, with coverage shown per suburb and per night so you always know how thick the data under a rate is. The event calendar is national and curated by hand.
What it costs
Three plans, priced in Rands and paid up front by EFT or PayShap for one, six or twelve months: Solo for one property, Pro for up to five, and Multi-property for six to 75 on a graduated per-unit rate. Six-month terms carry a 5% discount and twelve-month terms 15%. There is no free trial, no revenue share, no forex and no VAT added. The pricing page carries every figure.
Beyond the nightly rate
Two add-ons extend a plan. The Guest hub gives your guests a digital guidebook, personal stay links and arrival and checkout emails. Concierge services, delivered with our partner West Landau, let guests book transfers and tours from inside that guide and pay you a commission share of 5% on transfers and 6% on tours.
Who runs it
RateVeld ZA, a sole proprietorship trading as RateVeld, operated from Cape Town, South Africa. We are a small team of hosts and builders, and the service is run and supported from the Cape. Hosting, database and mail live in Johannesburg, so personal information stays in South Africa in the ordinary course and is handled under POPIA; the privacy notice and the terms say exactly how. We write about the market, the rules and the maths on The Ledger, 33 posts and counting.
