Concierge · for RateVeld members

A hotel earns on the whole stay. You earn on the bed.

The airport run, the Winelands day, the chef on the last night: a hotel books every one at the desk and earns on each. Your guests buy the same things from your door, through someone else, and you earn nothing. Concierge puts the menu in your guest's guide and pays you a share of every transfer and tour it books: 5% on transfers, 6% on tours.

The money on the table

Your guests already spend it. Someone else earns it.

A stay is not one purchase. Between check-in and check-out your guest pays for a ride from the airport, a day out, a driver for dinner, a ride back. In a hotel every one of those runs through the desk, and the hotel earns on each. In a short-let they run through an app or a stranger's number, and the host who brought the guest to Cape Town earns none of it.

Why it converts

Four reasons a guest says yes.

01

The right moment.

The guide on the guest's phone from the day the link is sent, the welcome card on arrival, and a line that answers at 21:10. Offers sit where the guest is already looking, not in a blast at booking.

02

Priced for your calendar.

RateVeld already prices your nights against the hotels near you and your seasonal shape. The serviced night carries a premium the same engine sets, so the rung pays before the first booking through the line.

03

Requested in the guide, paid through the line.

The guest taps Request in their guide; the line confirms in writing; the guest pays for what they use. You do not invoice, dispatch or chase. Your share is tracked in the same account that prices your calendar.

04

Your menu, your area.

Cape Town and the Winelands first: Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, Southern Suburbs, False Bay, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek. Ask even if your suburb is not listed; a host who asks moves it to the front of the queue.

Before you ask

Three reasons we say no.

Concierge is a member service, and we would rather turn a host away than sell a menu their guests will not use.

  1. 01

Your suburb will not carry it.

We read your comp set and the hotels near you before we quote. If guests in your area do not pay for service, we tell you so, and nothing is switched on.

  2. 02

    You are outside our area.

Cape Town and the Winelands for now. We would rather say “not yet” than send your guest a driver we cannot vouch for.

  3. 03

You would rather guests sort themselves out.

That is a fair way to run a listing. It just means the transfer, the tour and the table keep earning for someone else.

Good questions.

West Landau, our concierge partner: a staffed line that answers when your guest calls, with vetted drivers and guides. You book an airport transfer, chauffeur driving or a day tour for your guest through RateVeld; West Landau quotes it, you accept, and the guest pays West Landau. RateVeld puts the menu in your guest's own guide, prices your serviced nights and tracks what you earn. The chef, restaurant tables and the guest line are set up on request. You never dispatch a driver yourself.

No fee per booking: you earn. West Landau's rate is not reduced; a service charge is added on top of it, 10% on transfers and 12% on tours and charters, and you receive half of that charge: 5% on transfers, 6% on tours. Illustrative: on a R2 000 transfer your guest pays R2 200 and you earn R100; on a R4 500 day tour they pay R5 040 and you earn R270. Your guest sees one price. Earnings are paid monthly by EFT (from R200) or taken as credit off your RateVeld plan, your choice. The chef, restaurant tables and the guest line stay on request.

Plenty will, and you lose nothing when they do. The ones who book through the menu are the family of six with luggage landing at 23:00, the couple who want a driver who waits at the wine farm, the guest who would rather not haggle in a city they arrived in an hour ago. Today they ask you and you send a number. With Concierge the same answer is one tap in their guide, and it pays you: 5% on transfers, 6% on tours.

Yes. Concierge is a member service: the same account that prices your nights also carries the Concierge tile in your guest hub guide, the "dedicated concierge available" line on your listing, and your commission share. Request a quote and we set up both together.

Cape Town and the Winelands first: the Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, Southern Suburbs, False Bay, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Coverage grows as hosts join, so ask even if your suburb is not listed and we will tell you honestly what we can staff.

It can. Services at scale are exactly what Cape Town's draft short-stay by-law is designed to see, so climb deliberately: keep your projections open and let the same spreadsheet set the rates you charge and the rates you may one day pay. Read the 182-night calendar →

Ask us. Before we switch anything on, we look at your comp set, the hotels near you and your seasonal shape, and tell you plainly whether your area and property suit the rung. Read the service-ladder argument first →

Yes. Hosts on concierge get a Concierge tile in their guest hub guide: the menu with prices in Rands and a Request button on each item. The request reaches West Landau with you in copy, and the guest pays West Landau for what they book, one all-in price. No card details are taken in the guide.

Price like a hotel. Earn like one.

Your guests are already spending it. Take your share.

We read your suburb, your comp set and your seasonal shape first, then quote in Rands: your serviced nights, the menu for your area, and your 5% on transfers and 6% on tours worked through. If it does not fit, we say so.

Concierge is a member service, and we do not switch it on blind. Send us your area and how many properties you run. We reply with an honest read on whether your suburb carries it, what your serviced nights should charge, and what the commission share on your guests' bookings would pay you: 5% on transfers, 6% on tours.
